The growth of e-commerce continues to arouse interest in industrial real estate. Combining trends such as piece-by-piece picking, as well as trends that are difficult to predict future demand, a solution that can optimize horizontal and vertical warehouse space and flexibly handle storage scenarios for different SKUs is required. The eight-meter-tall robot is Geek's response to the growing demand for more storage capacity and flexibility in the warehouse.

As a new member of Geek's award-winning RoboShuttle family, RS8-DA is a safe, efficient, and flexible high-density solution that addresses the complex logistics scenarios brought about by the rise of e-commerce and the need to optimize valuable systems. Smart storage space. The industry's highest, compatible with eight-meter-high shelves and boxes or handbags of different widths, the new robot can maximize the use of the warehouse, and the space utilization rate has increased by 5 times compared with manual picking. Compared with its predecessor RS5, RS8 will also increase the storage density by up to 70%.

Liu Kai, co-founder and vice president of Geek smart warehouse products, said: “With the soaring e-commerce and warehouse rents, companies need flexibility and space utilization that traditional automation cannot provide. The ability to be a long-term automation partner with strong R&D capabilities” , We believe that it is our responsibility to use flexible robots to promote the various changes that companies may face. Our AMR solutions are specifically tailored to meet the industry-specific challenges faced by logistics operators today. "

The robot adopts a slim and sturdy chassis design, flexible door frame and double-deep telescopic wishbones, which can walk through narrow aisles with a maximum height of 8145 mm. Using its wishbone, the robot can access inventory lines of different depths as low as 285 mm and as high as 7820 mm, with the goal of horizontal and vertical warehouse space. More importantly, the dual-frame extension design allows the robotic arm to reach 8 meters high in just 8 seconds, which not only improves the picking efficiency, but also maximizes the use of three-dimensional storage space.

Equipped with a smart depth camera and high-precision sensors, the robot can adjust its arms to pick up boxes of different sizes, optimizing the overall shelf space. You can also allocate storage locations according to the size of the box to improve inventory organization. Even if the robot is working in the upper part of the warehouse, the operator can monitor the taking and returning of boxes in real time through the intelligent depth camera installed on the robot arm.

The robot is connected to the WMS and driven by an intelligent algorithm to automatically transfer up to 8 tote boxes to or from the workstation to automatically complete the picking, replenishment, reverse logistics and inventory check processes. The Geek RoboShuttle robot is the first Tote to Person storage solution to obtain CE and ETL certification, and meets EU reliability and safety standards.

Simon Houghton, Director of Sales and Marketing at Geek UK & Ireland, said: “We are rapidly growing interest in the types of solutions that can optimize space, ensure employee safety, and bring accuracy and flexibility to warehouse operations. Accessible box picking capabilities add another dimension, as users can optimize their vertical space and shelf space. Now, items of different sizes and shapes can be optimally stored and can be retrieved safely and flexibly. "

Recently, Geek was named the world's largest AMR market leader by Interact Analysis, an international market research organization focusing on technology trends and market prospects. In the 2021 mobile robot market annual report, Geek ranked first in the global AMR market share for the third consecutive year. In early 2022, Geek will set up a new branch in the UK to support the growing global demand for smart warehouse transformation.
